Entry Form

Our 2011 Distinguished Artist was Marlies Schoenefeld.

Marlies Schoenefeld is well known for her landscapes of Killarney Park and the North Channel of Lake Huron.

The woods, water and rocks of the Canadian Shield were her training ground for aquarells, pastels and acrylic paintings.
During the summer Marlies takes her canoe or kayak to her favourite places to paint en plein air.

She shares her love for watercolours with students in Killarney Park and on Paddle and Paint trips on Lake Huron.
Her love of the outdoors and the natural world has inspired her to find the essence of the northern landscape.

She uses this knowledge of the woods, the waters and the rocks to simplify the complexity of colour and shapes to the absolute essentials to enable the viewer to feel the scene and become a part of it.

This year Marlies will be giving a demonstration open to artists that have entered the La Cloche Art Show. It will be held from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30 at the Whitefish Falls Fire Hall located beside the Community Centre.
